Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zoning Act

California law prohibiting construction of structures for human occupancy across the trace of an active fault.

It establishes earthquake fault zones and requires a geologic investigation before development within them. It is one of the six zones reported on the Natural Hazard Disclosure Statement.
