A study loop, not just a question count
Learn it. Try it. Explain it. Check again.
Each tool has a different job. Use the public site to build a repeatable study routine, then choose the full app if its longer practice and account features fit your needs.
1. Find a useful baseline
If you have completed the required coursework, try the seven-area sampler without notes. One item per area can suggest where to start, but it cannot measure mastery. If the material is unfamiliar, begin with the complete study guide.
2. Learn the rule behind the choice
Read the relevant lesson, compare the easy-to-confuse concepts, and work the example before revealing its explanation. For calculations, name the quantities and units before choosing a formula.
3. Practice without the hint
Use focused questions to learn, then mix the subjects. The untimed math drill hides the topic label until you answer. The mock's test mode withholds answers until submission, so an earlier explanation does not give away a later item.
4. Repair misses and uncertain answers
Optional confidence labels help distinguish a misconception from a guess. Review why your choice failed and why the alternative works. Explain the rule in your own words, then check it against a changed scenario rather than immediately memorizing the same answer.
5. Check fresh performance and prepare for the day
The free 25- and 50-question mocks offer 30- and 60-minute clocks at California's average exam pace, or untimed study. They allow flags and revisiting before submission. Use fresh questions and sustained pacing as evidence; a private score is not a predicted DRE result. The full 150-question, three-hour rehearsal is in the separate app.
What is saved, and where
The free website keeps practice progress and unfinished attempts in this browser when storage is available. It does not merge these results into an app account. Saved drafts expire after seven days or when their questions change. A timed mock keeps its original deadline after a refresh. Clear local progress from the review page.
The authenticated web app and mobile apps are separate products with their own account, purchase and synchronization flows. Mobile offline access does not mean the public website or authenticated browser app works fully offline.
