How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Accepted Answer

Sign in with the same Pass California account you used before, then open Settings and tap Restore Purchase. You can also tap "Already purchased? Restore" at the bottom of the Upgrade to Premium screen. The device must be signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account that made the purchase. If Premium is still locked, email us your sign-in email, where you bought it, the purchase date and the receipt or order ID.

Question 2

I bought Premium, but features are still locked.

Accepted Answer

Check that you are signed in to the account you bought Premium on, then open Settings and tap Restore Purchase. If that does not unlock it, log out, sign back in and restore again. Still locked? Email us your sign-in email and the receipt or order ID from Apple or Google and we will sort it out.

Question 3

The Upgrade to Premium screen is not showing a price.

Accepted Answer

The price is loaded from the App Store or Google Play, so it needs a connection. Check you are online, tap Try Again, or close and reopen the app. Make sure the device is signed in to the App Store or Google Play and that in-app purchases are allowed on it. If the price still does not load, email us your device, system version and country.

Question 4

Is Premium a subscription?

No. Premium is a one-time purchase ($39.99 in the US; the store shows the price in your local currency). It never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.

What can I use for free?

Accepted Answer

Signed-in free accounts get the full Practice of Real Estate and Disclosures study guide (the largest area, 25% of the exam), Topic Practice in that area, flashcards (20 per session) and 2 Math Coach problems per topic. Free access does not expire. If you skip sign-in, you can answer 20 questions as a guest before creating an account.

Question 6

I forgot my password.

Accepted Answer

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and follow the email we send. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive within a few minutes. If you originally signed up with Apple or Google, use that button again instead: a new email account will not have your progress or your purchase.

Question 7

Sign in with Apple is not working.

Accepted Answer

Make sure the device is signed in to iCloud (Settings, then your name at the top) and that two-factor authentication is on for your Apple ID. Closing the Apple sheet returns you to the sign-in screen, so try again from there. If it keeps failing, email us your device model, iOS version and what you see.

Question 8

My progress is not syncing between devices.

Accepted Answer

Both devices need to be signed in to the same account and online. Open the app on the device you studied on so it can upload, then open it on the other one. Guest progress stays on the device it was made on and does not sync, so create an account first. Please do not use Reset All Progress to fix a sync problem; email us your sign-in email and which devices you use.

Can I study on a computer?

Yes, with the free practice on this website, which works in any browser with no account. It is separate from the app: website progress stays in that browser and does not sync with the app, and Premium features are in the mobile app only.

Question 10

How do refunds work?

Accepted Answer

Apple and Google process every app purchase, so refunds go through them. For the App Store, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, open your order history in the Play Store and choose Request a refund. We cannot refund a store purchase ourselves, but email us if you get stuck and we will help. California DRE application and exam fees are paid to the state and are separate.

Question 11

How do I delete my account and data?

Accepted Answer

In the app, open Settings and scroll to Danger Zone, then tap Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and its cloud data: study history, notes and bookmarks. You may be asked to sign in again first. If you cannot get into the app, email us from the address on the account and we will delete it within one business day. To clear your study history but keep the account, use Reset All Progress in the same section.

Question 12

I am not getting daily study reminders.

Accepted Answer

Reminders need permission on the device and a setting in the app. In the app, open Settings, turn on Daily Reminder and choose a Reminder Time. Then check your phone's notification settings for Pass California and make sure notifications are allowed. If you turned them off at the system level, turn them back on there.

I found a mistake in a question.

Accepted Answer

Tap Report on that question's explanation and tell us what looks wrong. Reports come straight to us with the question attached, and we check every one against current California law.

Question 14

The app crashes or freezes.

Accepted Answer

Close the app completely and reopen it, check the App Store or Google Play for an update, and restart the device. If you reinstall, sign in first: a signed-in account keeps its progress, but guest progress is deleted with the app. If it keeps happening, email us your device, system version, app version and what you were doing when it failed.
