What does it cost?
The app is free to download, and the free tier does not expire. Premium is a single purchase of $59.99 in the US, shown in your own currency at the store. It is not a subscription, it never renews, and there is nothing to cancel.
How is the app different from the free practice on this site?
The website is for reading and quick practice in a browser: guides, calculators, the glossary and a sample question bank, with no account. The app is the study system: a much larger California question bank, full timed exams, Math Coach, spaced repetition, offline study and progress that syncs between your devices.
Do I need an account?
Not to start. Without one you get a curated 20-question starter set on that device. A free account, made with email, Apple or Google, unlocks the free tier above and backs your progress up and syncs it between devices. Does it work offline?
Yes. Questions, study guides and Math Coach lessons are stored on the device, so a weak signal on the way to the exam center changes nothing. Progress syncs when you are back online.

Is this an approved pre-license course?
No, and nothing here claims to be. The three 45-hour statutory courses come from a DRE-approved school. Pass California is exam practice for after those courses, and it is not affiliated with the California Department of Real Estate.
