The mix, not just the material

Weighted mock examination

Most practice sets give every content area roughly equal billing, which does not resemble the real paper at all. This one allocates questions across the seven areas in the proportions DRE publishes, then reports your result the way a failed result notice would, ranked by weighted loss.

Build your set

Whatever size you choose, the questions are allocated across the seven areas in the official published proportions using largest-remainder allocation, so the counts always total exactly the size you asked for.

How your 50 questions break down

  • Practice and Disclosures13 · 25%
  • Agency and Fiduciary Duties9 · 17%
  • Ownership and Land Use7 · 15%
  • Valuation and Analysis7 · 14%
  • Contracts6 · 12%
  • Financing4 · 9%
  • Transfer of Property4 · 8%

A real form is 150 questions in 3 hours, requiring 70% correct. This set is shorter, so treat the per-area breakdown as the useful output rather than the overall percentage.

Why an unweighted practice set misleads you

Suppose a set gives you fifteen questions each from all seven areas. Transfer of Property, which is 8% of the real exam, would be 14% of your practice, while Practice and Disclosures at 25% would also be 14%. Score 90% on the first and 60% on the second and the set tells you that you are doing fine. The real examination would tell you something very different.
