License and brokerage law
Business and Professions Code 10130 and 10131 address licensing and broker acts. Sections 10176 and 10177 address disciplinary grounds. Section 10101 contains accusation timing rules and an important fraud-discovery provision. Use the current text for the claim being studied.
Agency and agreements
Civil Code 2079.13 through 2079.24 address covered agency disclosure and related duties. Civil Code 1670.50 and DRE Regulations 2906.1 through 2906.3 address buyer representation agreements. Regulation 2785 addresses improper appraisal influence; it is not a general ethics code.
Property disclosures and management
Civil Code 1102 and following address the Transfer Disclosure Statement; 1103 and following address natural-hazard disclosures. Section 1950.5 governs residential security deposits. Qualified commercial tenant protections appear in sections 827, 1946.1 and 1950.9.
Finance and transfer
Code of Civil Procedure 580b and 580d provide different anti-deficiency protections. Section 726 includes the one-action rule; sections 726(e) and 729.030 matter to judicial redemption. Revenue and Taxation Code 11911 controls the county documentary-transfer-tax rate and applicability threshold.
