How this is calculated
Days remaining come from your examination date. Weeks are those days divided by seven, and available hours are weeks multiplied by the hours a week you say you can genuinely commit. That total is then distributed across the seven content areas in proportion to their approximate published weights, with no editorial adjustment.
The day figures beside each area are a suggested sequence rather than a rule. Starting with the heaviest areas is a useful baseline because those topics occupy more of the published outline. It is not a claim that every study hour has equal value. Practice results and weak topics should change the allocation once you have personal evidence.
A salesperson reschedule costs $40 each time; a re-examination after failure costs $100. If your remaining study plan is unrealistic, check appointment availability and DRE's current rescheduling instructions before changing the date. DRE does not publish a cheaper early-rescheduling fee.

How many hours a week should I study for the California real estate exam?
There is no substantiated figure to point to, and we do not publish one. What matters is that the hours you commit are hours you will actually find, and that they are distributed across the seven content areas in proportion to what each is worth.
Which content area should I study first?
Practice of Real Estate and Disclosures is the strongest default because it is approximately 25% of the published outline. If a diagnostic shows a sharper weakness elsewhere, use that evidence to adjust the order.
