Practice and Disclosures, 25% of the examination
Team name
A group name used by two or more licensees that must meet California naming and responsible-broker identification rules.
A compliant team name includes the surname of at least one team member and a term such as team, group, or associates, and it must not imply an independent brokerage. Advertising using the name must still identify the responsible broker as the law requires.
Test the distinction
A relevant question from Practice and Disclosures, selected because its facts or explanation use this concept.
A salesperson wants to advertise under a team name. What does California require?
Written to DRE's published topic list. Not a real examination question, since reproducing those is a misdemeanor under B&P Code section 123.
